Skin Deep in Miami
PONCE DE LEON, CALL YOUR REALTOR. In one of the more over the top
amenities floated by Florida condominium developers, an elite Swiss
skin care company has signed on to help Core Development lubricate
sales at Ten Museum Park, a 50 story' project with 200 new luxury
residences. Clinique La Prairie, a brand known in the U.S. for its
cosmetics (motto: the fine art of aging) and in Europe for its pioneering
work in fetal sheep cell injections, will develop a "wellness
center" on the site, as well as a personal spa in each condo.
(Of course, there will be a line of skincare products just for residents
of the building.) Also planned: an art gallery, indoor/outdoor café
and several office condos. Sales of the units, which will range
in size from 850 square feet to 5,000 square foot penthouses and
in price from $250,000 to a little more than $1 million, begin in
November. The residences will have high ceilings and views of the
Atlantic, Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami. Still, the cosmetics
can't mask the competition: There are 10 other condo projects tinder
construction in Miami, with 14 more planned, for a total of more
than 8,000 units, according to the Downtown Development Authority.
