But before you chill out to soothing music, consider house music label Hed Kandi's quarterly showcase Saturday at Mansion, and keep your eyes on the mailbox for an invitation to Michael Capponi's 35th birthday party. As usual, it's a swank (Jimbo's party last year notwithstanding), over-the-top 18th century Venetian Masquerade Ball on Saturday at a private waterfront mansion where powdered wigs will take precedence over powdered noses. Dangerous Liaisons attire is mandatory and the party is said to sport horses guarding the gate, a live performance by New World Symphony, jugglers, acrobats and a surprise performance.

The party continues, of course, at Mansion, where masks will be available to disguise your reactions as Cirque du Soleil-style acrobats kick it to a mix of 18th century tunes fused with modern day house.

We can't wait to see what happens when The Opium Group's original, beloved Living Room and Privé open at the new Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Sin City, surely to be command central for celebs when the MTV Video Music Awards take over the Strip in September, leaving us with welcome vacancies in various VIP rooms at last. But not for long.
